		<description>I appreciate your optimism David but I have to say as a small time musician myself, finding venues that will pay unknown artists even when they are taking money at the door is a real struggle. I have played a paid gig once since starting out with my old band laundry room back in 2006. We cut a deal to take a small percentage of bar takings for the night. The venue was rammed with well over 150 people (that&#039;s big numbers for a small town like Worcester in England) we earned £15! :&#124; lol. I think before artist can start making bread and butter again the venues are going to need to start actually paying or prehaps more people should refuse to do it for free? I&#039;m sure it will balance out sooner or later, there is certainly a long way to go though.
