No Not The Angry Dolphin You Sicko!

So I went out to grab some lunch today at Immaculate Consumption (go there) and two good things happened to me besides the food being awesome.  A) I got to talk to Austin Crane and B) I got to pick up the The Angry Whale.  Over the years zines in Columbia have come and gone.  One of my favorites was always “Step Out of The Line” and I still miss it.  Maybe Todd Mathis will start writing for Scene SC!  Here is a link to his Myspace.  Send him a message and tell him that we miss his sense of humor in writing.

The Angry Whale is a Sean Rayford project who most of y’all will probably recognize from New Brookland Tavern.  Not only is The Angry Whale a great read, but it fits in your back pocket folded once.  This is very important to me.  And it is sturdy and it will hold together while I sit on it for 2 weeks.  This is all important because I don’t have  a blackberry or some kind of personal organizer. I need one, but I don’t have one. The closest thing I have to a personal organizer is my sister. So since it fits right in your back pocket you now have a personal organizer for Columbia Entertainment events and you always have something to read in whatever bathroom you are in.

I don’t have any Tattoos, but maybe I could trick a girl that was looking for a guy with a tattoo.  I don’t know, tell them it was in a secret spot or something.  If you haven’t read the magazine you probably have no idea what I mean.  “Where To Meet Dudes With Tattoos” is the section of the magazine with suggested concerts for each night of the week.  I trust in Sean’s taste of music because I see him taking pictures of most of the bands I like.

I actually heard about this zine while I was tailgaiting before the Georgia game Saturday and I have been looking forward to getting my hands on it.  Sean does a great job of not only covering local music, but also great bands that stop by here.

Pick one up!
