Free Times Music Crawl Lineup
Most of the bands that will be playing the Free Times Music Crawl were revealed in today’s issue of the Free Times.
Just like last year, The Free Times has composed a solid line up of some of South Carolina’s best artists for showcase in the Vista of Columbia. I can look down this list and pick out at least 5 bands that deserve solid national recognition and can hold their own with any in the music industry. In all honesty there are more bands on this show that I would want to see live than at most festivals going on recently. The Music Crawl always brings out a bands A game getting to play in front of hundreds of new faces. Now lets’ just pray for weather like last years.

Instead of complaining about who didn’t make the list, can I point out how cool it is that Columbia has so many good bands that quite a few can be left off a local showcase like this…
maybe these bands didn’t apply? if you’re smart, you know when to pick and choose your shows. maybe those bands had other plans.
is there a reason why ‘the reason your listening’ spelled ‘your’ incorrectly?
No Brisbones? Lame.
Come on guys complaining is a lot more fun. No Hootie!? No Crossfade!? No Obraski!? This show needs more cock rock. This is f’in Columbia, SC for christ sake. Where are all the tribute bands? Where are all the punk bands? Where are all the ska bands? Where is Sequoyah Prep School?? Where is James Brown? Where is Pebo Bryson?? Where is Marshall Tucker Band or Morgan Freeman?
But for real, where are the country bands?
The Restoration pretends to be a country band.
The fact that there are so few bands on that list that play OUTSIDE of Columbia clearly illustrates the biggest problem with our music scene.

Had to add that one of the supposed categories used to select bands is professionalism.
If that is true why is there is a band name in the list that uses obviously incorrect grammar?

they grammar in “The Reason Your Listening” is flawed but because of that it probably has gotten way more people to know who they are, not the worst plan in the world.
It IS a shame there are no punk bands on the roster, but the powers that be in columbia don’t respect it and there really arn’t enough punk bands around in columbia to deserve respect. this guy; not bitter at all.
EXCITED about “Leslie”. Those guys are fantastic.
