Music Crawl Preview: Black Bottom Biscuits

Saturday November 5

Where: Flying Saucer

When: 8:50-9:20

How would you describe your sound to someone that has never heard your band?

Short answer: “Buck Owens meets Buddy Holly and Keith Richards”
Long answer: When we started this band in 2001, we were an acoustic group that drew from country, folk, and bluegrass influences and mixed all of that up into our songwriting styles.
As we evolved into an electric band, we keep in touch with those roots but add classic and Southern rock flavors into our sound as well.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences?

Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, The Rolling Stones

What are you most excited about for the future of your band?

The last couple of years has found us working more in North Carolina and Tennessee, and we would like to keep expanding our performing range all over the Southeast region and beyond. Also, we are working to complete a 16-track CD of new versions of songs from our first two out-of-print records, to be released in 2012.
