Seriously, hear me out.  This is a legit alternative to actually working hard.  You just take your happy self down to Charleston on either March 17 or 18 and register.  On March 19th–it’s a Tuesday, but don’t worry, you have no job–at 7am you begin waiting with thousands of other hopefuls in the North Charleston Coliseum for your chance to sing before a producer and hope that you’re either good (or bad) enough to get some camera time with Simon.  I bet if you make it on TV your mom will donate to your kickstarter–you don’t even have to win to start reaping the benefits!  Also, I guarantee your Nana will put you on her prayer list for this one, even though she barely acknowledged that YouTube of you singing in your bathroom.

If this sounds like too much work, don’t fret!  You can audition online.  No waking up before noon required.  Another reason to audition online is that the audition process has one restriction that ain’t nobody got time for:

The gist of this, as I understand it, is that in SC breweries cannot sell pints on premises.  That’s no fun, you guys.  Our SC Brewers have gotten together and filed a bill to rectify this travesty.  Best of luck you guys…for our sakes, that is.  @COASTbrewing is also preparing for Brewvival this Saturday.  Homecats from Dogfishhead and Sierra Nevada will be there to lead us all to brew-heaven.  There’s also plenty of beer to baptize yourself in.  You’ll have beersalvation.  I’m out of religious metaphors, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss this.  I swear to brew-god.

If Brewvival is too much for you, stop talking to me.  But really, no, stop.  @COASTbrewing would probably love to still be friends with you, though.  You can go to one of their tastings and try to pick up what they’re laying down over in Charleston.  I want to pick up a whole lot of the HopArt, personally.  You’d know that if we were still on speaking terms.

Wanna get back on my good side?  Go with me to New Brookland Tavern this Sunday.  @BadBooksMusic is playing.  And I love me some @BadBooksMusicThey’ve been teasing us with some exclusive behind the scenes pictures and tweets.  The gent above in the toboggan is @LightninFreeman.  I was as close to him as I am to my computer now and you know what I said?  Nothing.  I am very intimidated next to people who have their faces on a t-shirt that circulates the population.  Here we have Andy Hull and Kevin Devine showing how adept they are with camera phones and how excited the crowd is to be at a @BadBooksMusic show.  I think someone in the crowd is holding up a street sign.  That reminds me of the Bon Jovi vid where the girl held up her Bon Jovi license plate.  Basically, @BadBooksMusic is the new Bon Jovi.  I hope they are comfortable in that role.  I expect the spandex to roll out sometime before the next tour.All @BadBooksMusic supporters also need to make sure to tweet @altnation.  Do that, then buy your tickets for the NBT show.  You save $2 if you buy in advance.  Also, if you buy in advance and tweet about it, I can creep on who is going to the show to see who I want to coyly stand next to during “I Begged You Everything” trying to hold hands.  Is that a joke?  Maybe.  Come out Sunday to find out.

I know that one cat does not have a heard, but he gets a pass.  That vintage-y leather wins him enough cool points.  Cool points are also won for the random hashtags that I do not understand but thoroughly enjoy.  Apparently, @ELIMBOLT does not need my cool points.  They already have really awesome opening acts:

Speaking of getting in on things early, you’re going to want to do that with @Owl_Restaurant, too.  This place is located at  728 Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville and from what I hear it’s where all the cool kids go.  I only hear this because I have not been.  I may not be cool enough to go.  I am still weighing that issue, but if this is on the menu I may just go anyway:

They had me at Blood Orange.  That’s what Dexter drinks.  I do whatever Dexter does.  Besides murder.  I don’t murder people.  Another thing that Dexter and I both like is a good hearty breakfast.  The only thing better than breakfast is brunch, because you can sleep late and it’s socially acceptable to drink at brunch.  @Owl_Restaurant serves brunch, therefore they are awesome.  Looks like the atmosphere is pretty cool, too:

I like going to restaurants with dim lighting because everyone looks super fine in dim lighting.  I am sure you, dear reader, look hot in any light, but chances are you’ll have a better chance of someone winking at you at @Owl_Restaurant.  Don’t believe me?  Go and report back.  I’ll sit here and wait.

First up is a parody account which, for the span of one entire football game, was the toast of my timeline.  That would be of course @HornyMusburger. While America fell in love with, Katherine Webb, Musburger apparently fell into lust.  Google and YouTube the incident to catch yourself up to speed.  Once you do, these will be even funnier.

I almost can’t even comment.  I think what makes this the most hilarious is the picture that the account is using for it’s avatar.  The expression and the old man face obviously taken with technology he doesn’t understand combined with this comment makes me want to pee my pantaloons.  I won’t, though, mostly because pantaloons went out of style a long time ago and I can’t risk damaging these antiques.

@HornyMusburger was not only creating excellent twitter content, he was contributing to the content of others.  This guy’s tweet was mediocre at best until @HornyMusburger came into the picture and knocked it out of the park.  Or kicked it through the uprights?  Whatever sports metaphor is appropriate…

If you’ve read this feature ever or follow me on twitter, you might have picked up that ‘one true love’ is a term I throw around quite a bit.  Looks like @HornyMusburger might be my soul mate, or one true love as it were, by also using this term.  We can’t fight these things.  Fate is fate.

Speaking of fate and love, I once went on a really awesome date-type-sitch on July 4th.  There were drinks, a rooftop sunset and fireworks over the city below.  It was pretty memorable, mostly because I was never groped through the course of the evening.  Well, I wasn’t groped because my companion for the evening was the gentlemanly, @JusNice.   Jus Nice is a hip hop artist who claims many locales, but South Carolina had been his home base for many years before his recent move to Atlanta.   Anywho, he’s a respectful guy with has a single that might would make you think otherwise, but you can tell he’s got women’s best interest at heart:

It’s like “He’s Just Not That Into You” 2.0 for Twitter.  If you want to get wifed up, don’t act like a side hoe.  He later also explains that if a dude really likes you, he’ll take you to a park.  If said dude takes you to Applebee’s he only wants to smash.  Cross stitch that on a pillow and you will hopefully not end up a cat lady.

I was trying to come up with a joke referencing “Rub You the Right Way”, but I think I will refrain.   I love a good 90s R&B reference, however,  and this tweet stands alone for me as hilarious.  You might even say it makes me say, “My, My, My”…ugh, I should’ve stopped while I was ahead.

I’m going to need clarification on this. What exact breed is she?  Is she like a labradoodle?  Everyone loves labradoodles.   I also need to know what breed of woman I am, so I can know if I am different as well.  If I’m not, it’s cool.  It would probably be the first time in my life I was considered normal.  If you want to hear some abnormally good hits, (don’t lie, you liked that) you should check out Jus Nice’s mixtape, Empty Throne, when it drops next month.

I’m a big, big fan of @do2w.  Once upon a time, they opened for a little band named Manchester Orchestra and Trae yelled to me from a merch tent to buy their cd.  When a man with a beard holla, hollas at me, I don’t not respond.  I bought the CD and have been a frequenter of shows ever since.  Consider me your proxy beardo hollering out right now and telling you to check out Death on Two Wheels.  For starters they are fiscally conservative:

The guys in @do2w may sound like they’d be inclined to bring the pain, but they brought the cute to twitter this week:

Tour cats?!?  I feel like if this was also on Tumblr that it probably got a bajillion reblogs and notes and that every teenage girl in America now has a Tumblr crush on @do2w.  If those things didn’t happen, then maybe the end of the world is near.  I can’t imagine a interweb where that did not occur.  However, personally, I tweeted about a mini-horse this week and lost 3 followers, so maybe Ikea monkey is the only cool animal this week.  Regardless, catch @do2w on tour.   You won’t be sad and you might get to hug a kitty.

What you may not know about me is that I am a huge wrestling fan.  I could tell you some wrestling stories that would make you giggle for days.  Or maybe only for five minutes.  I am not good at telling time.  What will keep you in giggs is following @the_ironsheik on Twitter:

Also this week I decided to take a look back at my favorites.  Favorites are a funny thing because I would say that I hadn’t favorited anything until maybe 6-8 months ago.  I read a tweet that said, “Think of favorites as high-fives,” and after that I went full force into the favorites.  However, upon looking back at them, it’s clear that I have questionable judgement on what is deserving of high-fives.

Yes, I favorited a tweet about bread.  I am what’s wrong with America.

All of us, in this case, included me.  I agreed whole heartedly with this tweet and I don’t know if I hate or love myself because of it.

I favorited this mostly because I hope to one day have a four year old who shouts “How ya like me now?” at everyone.  I feel like somehow this child is my spirit animal and we will be united in a far away time and place.  He might even try to kill me one day like Gordon-Levitt did Willis in Looper.

You may have also noticed the “More” icon on tweets now.  You can directly email tweets to your friends.  No more copy/paste or screenshots for you my friend.  Try it today.  Just don’t email any of my tweets to Big Roy.  That’s my dad.

Heather, I don’t know you, but I believe in two things: true love and awkwardness.  I found a gent who is looking to go and I tweeted him about your no-date status.

Hopefully, my tweet will spark some romance or at least an uncomfortable, forced conversation between strangers.  I think this could work.  If anyone else is interested in my matchmaking prowess, get at me.  I do it for the love of love.

Our first #TwitterThursday account got some good news today.  @hissgldnmssr was announced as one of the first wave of artists added to the SXSW festival this coming year.  I know, you’re thinking, “Didn’t South-by just happen?”  It sure does seem like it, but passes for 2013 are already on sale.  So far, no SC bands have been added to the bill, but @hissgldnmssr out of Durham is going to bring a little of the Carolinas to Texas for us.

I realize that I gush over every single person I write about on #TwitterThursday, but bear with me.  I don’t know anyone else in my tweet circle who would post a Miles Davis performance from Denmark in the 70s.  If my brother tweeted, he probably would, actually.  So, I guess @hissgldnmssr, I love you like a brother?  You seem super cool–like the cool older brother who gives you hand-me-down band shirts and talks about when music was real.  Can we have coffee and exchange mixtapes?

Newer to Twitter, @hissgldnmssr seems to be an avid responder.  If you like artists you can personally interact with, you should follow this gent.  You should also check out the tunes, man.  I am officially obsessed.  I think you’ll be pleased with yourself if you do so.

Self described as “South Carolina’s sweet spot” Cupcake has locations in Charleston and Columbia with a sister bakery in Greenville.  They are good at puns…like “re-sweet”.  I usually hate puns, but it’s hard to hate anything to do with cupcakes or giveaways.  You get my approval.

In addition to puns, they are good at rhyming.  I have no problem with rhymes.  Mother goose is my homie.  I also REALLY want one of these Mocha Chip cupcakes.  Do you guys deliver?

I just can’t even.  I mean, if I wasn’t in love with @freshcupcakes before this tweet, I certainly was on board after.  I almost wept at how perfect it was.

Speaking of perfect, I must bring you the most perfect band ever as our second tweet-er of the day and that is @TheWinterSounds.  I heart everything they do.  So much so that I contributed to their kickstarter.  You know it’s real when you put money on it.

How can you not just laugh, smile, cry and die all at the same time from this tweet?  I dare you to try to resist one of those reactions.  You can’t!  My only hang up about this is that it did not come with a picture.  That is the only way I could’ve been more into this.

I feel like this might be a #subtweet aimed at me.  If you guys want to be in a relationship, I am down.  First, I would really, really like it if you asked me to your prom.  That would really bring everything together nicely.

The next cool little thing I got to experience in Austin was the studio for @KongScreenPrint.  After being Twitter friends for what seems like my whole-tweet-life, I finally got to see what Ryan and Bruce do at the shop.

Isn’t that like the coolest looking place to work ever?  Well, cool meaning awesome, because apparently sometimes it gets a little steamy up in there.  I think it has something to do with the adorable little sculptor they share the space with, but I doubt the Kong guys share in that opinion.

So what does screen printing have to do with music?  Well I mean, duh, everyone loves t-shirts for their bands right?  These guys do some gnar designs.  But also, they make show and event posters:
