Rupert Hudson
Yes, I was named after famous british polar bear Rupert. In fact, I was named after a cat that was named after that cartoon bear. This is exactly the reason why I’d have to say an orange cat is my spirit animal. Though, it’s kind of more like this cat is my spirit goddess. My spirit animal is a bit more like a grizzly duck, which is a grizzly bear with a duck’s beak. Two reasons: 1) When I wake up I am angry and grumble a lot, like a grizzly bear but once I wake up I am (usually) friendly and I quack a lot, and 2) I own a sweater with a grizzly bear on it and one with a duck on it. I am obviously obsessed with music and everything to do with music. I have been to over 80 concerts, I am in a band called One Two Skidoo, and I also co-host a radio show of that same name on WUSC. I was born in a country called London (I would say England, but you Americans seem to be set on the fact that England is only London). I was actually born in Brighton, England, but I don’t wanna confuse you too much so we’ll say I’m from London. I then moved to a super freezing area of Canada. You’re probably thinking “but all of Canada is super freezing!”. That’s not true. Well, kind of not true. I do that school thing at the University of South Carolina, and I write about music on this website, obviously. David Stringer is my hero.

Today I want to write about a wonderful band called The Makeshift from Charleston, SC. They formed the band three years ago on Valentine’s Day which spurred some motivation for releasing a new EP on Valentine’s Day this year. The EP is called Say You Don’t Love Me and can be found on their bandcamp as [...]

Wow, okay, this band Oberhofer are so awesome. I’m literally gonna copy paste their bio from their Facebook page, because it’s brilliant: When your songs are too big to be contained: form a band. Maybe call it after your family name because you like the way it sounds (shit, if it worked for Bon Jovi [...]

Just a little while ago, in a fantastic marketing move, Bonnaroo announced their 2012 lineup. By creating a playlist on Spotify, festival fans were able to see and listen to all the artists that are playing at this year’s festival. This is something that I have not ever seen before, and it’s pretty impressive in [...]
I posted about this festival based in Savannah a few weeks ago (here’s that article) and I’m going to start posting articles focused on specific bands playing at this year’s festival. There are over 70 bands that are playing so I’m definitely not even going to get close to covering all the great bands. But [...]
Glowfest South Carolina featuring Big Gigantic, 3LAU, The Dean’s List and others Township Auditorium, Columbia, SC 8pm $30 This event is something that strays pretty far from the music that we usually cover on this website but it is something that is happening in the music scene so why not cover it, right? [...]
On Tuesday night at the Visulite Theatre in Charlotte a large crowd of people were eagerly awaiting a band who are known all over the world. Surprisingly, the crowd consisted of a large number of alternative middle-aged couples. A group that I do not usually see at the concerts I go to. It makes sense [...]
