Two months ago, Kill Anties, an SC band formed in Lexington in 2004, shared a blurry photo to a newly created Instagram account. The archival image from a show at New Brookland Tavern revived long lost memories for some, and for the band hinted at the excitement of possibilities at the time for the teenage band.
A clipping from the Free Times in 2009 reads, “Opening act Kill Anties plays an incredibly mature brand of yelp-heavy, reverb-drenched Southern indie rock (see: Band of Horses, the Favorite Gentlemen collective) that belies its collective age. Next great Columbia indie rock band?”
Deserving words for the talented young band, but also a tall order to live up to
After 15 years, the band is back with this new video filmed live in a studio in Five Points for their song “Did You Know” which is the beginning of a revival for a deserving project. Later this year, the band will release a long overdue release recorded with Kenny McWilliams at Archer Avenue Studio in Columbia.
Stay tuned for more info from the band and more news from that upcoming release.
