Austin Crane at The Watershed Tonight

The Free Time’s Patrick Wall had a good write up about Austin Crane so I’ll post that for the preview of the show. Tomorrow we will have video and a write up for the show. Check it out.

Austin Crane — I daresay Austin Crane is an undersung songwriting talent in this town; his record I Know My Hands, released last year, perfectly melds the literate-pop approach of Death Cab for Cutie with the world-weary songwriting of Pedro the Lion and the supremely attractive arrangements of Sufjan Stevens. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Mr. Crane; perhaps he’ll have a few new pitch-perfect folk-pop tunes to debut at this show? Pretty please, sir? Fellow smart-pop songwriter Mike Mewborne also released a damn fine record, Long Division, of his own last year, and he’s been quiet as of late as well; mayhaps he, too, will have some sweet new songs to debut. The Dirt and the Flood open. P. Wall
