Watch 2 Slices Live at Papa Jazz

What’s the first album you remember loving as a kid?

DJ LazerCat’s favorite albums as a kid growing up in New York were Enter 36 Chambers by Wu Tang Clan and Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt. I grew up in the south and favored southern hip hop like Outkast’s Aquemini and Goodie Mob’s Soul Food

What as the first album you bought with your own money?

The first album I bought with my own money was Peter Gabriel’s So. DJ LazerCat’s first album he bought was Ruff Ryder’s Ryde or Die Vol. 2

What was the first local band you were a fan of?

Growing up in Columbia, the first band I was a fan of locally was Baumer.
They had a great mix of rock & roll and electronic dance music with high energy live shows. Shout out to Kenny McWilliams and Archer Avenue Studios.

What’s the most recent album you bought or have been listening to lately?

We’ve been bumpin’ Kelela’s Take Me Apart, Kehlani’s SweetSexySavage, and of course SZA’s Ctrl

What are we looking forward to in the world of 2 Slices?

2 Slices is working on new material and will be releasing more singles and music videos. The 2 will also be hitting the road next year on tour.

We’ve collabed with @hunterbmedia on this exciting new “showzine” project where we team up with SC photographers and creators to document shows. Check out the video, the review (link in bio), along with photos from the show. There will be a few physical zines with additional photos out in the wild. Maybe at an indie book store or record store near you.
