What’s the first album you remember loving as a kid?

Thriller by Michael Jackson

What was the first album you bought with your own money?

Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden

What was the first local band that caught your ear?

First local band that caught my ear: The Shoes. (Local band from Zion, Il. They were Lake County, IL famous :)!!

What’s the most recent album you’ve purchased or have just been listening to lately?

October 1984 by Olivia Block

Tell us a little about the projects and music you’ve been working on since the pandemic started, please.

I used the isolation from the pandemic as a motivation to send solo files to a couple of artists whom I greatly admire. I asked each artist to react to, manipulate, add to, subtract from, remix, edit, have their way with the sound files.

The results are Light and Shade with electronics musician Ikue Mori and Bristling Duets with Barcelona based percussionist Vasco Trilla. I’m thrilled with the results. This new way of working was a direct result of not being able to be in the same room as the other artist, and I feel that the music that was created is extremely unique and would not have had the same character if we were collaborating together in studio or live setting. So, something positive has indeed come out of the lockdown, for me anyway!!
